Pumpkin peel is a fruit enzyme, an exfoliation accelerator, a powerful anti-oxidant and a mild retinoic acid substitute. As a natural repair therapy, the Pumpkin Peel has topical beta carotene and absorbic acids to combat oxidation or free-radical damage.
Sensitive skin and acne problems will also benefit from Pumpkin Peels because it is not as intrusive as other peels (i.e. Chemical Peels). Pumpkins are high in zinc, which is excellent for the skin. They also have high levels of beta carotene, Vitamin C and Vitamin A. All of these are good for your skin.
Unlike other botanicals, Pumpkin contains a densely-populated array of nutrients. Through the pumpkin enzymes’ hydrolysis, many hidden advantages are released:
Newer studies are showing that you should aim to eat between 5 to 9 servings of fruits and vegetables daily. Remember the old saying, “An apple a day keeps the doctor away.” Now we have ten reasons why eating an apple daily is good for your health:
Apples contain only 60 – 100 calories, no fat and no sodium.
Apples contain 5 grams of Fiber and 20 grams of Carbohydrates, so you feel full longer.
The fiber, pectin (soluble fiber), antioxidants, and other compounds help to lower LDL (bad) cholesterol and raise HDL (good) cholesterol.
Flavonoids and phytochemicals in apples help protect against Lung and Colon cancers.
Apples contain Boron, a mineral to help maintain bone density and help protect against heart disease.
Apples contain Tanins, which help prevent tooth decay, gum disease, and urinary-tract infections.
Eating an apple a day, skin included, helps guard against stroke.
Apples contain vitamins and antioxidants which help prevent age-related vision loss.
Apples contain Quercetin (a Flavonoid) to help fight cancer better than Vitamin C.
Apples are high in Folic acid, a B vitamin which helps prevent birth defects and heart disease.
Plastic Surgery Tip
Chicago Breast Augmentation Plastic Surgery
Breast Augmentation, also known as Augmentation Mammoplasty, enhances the size and shape of a woman’s breasts through surgery. During surgery, your board-certified plastic surgeon will place the implant behind the muscle, to give your breast a more natural appearance. Now that silicone implants have been approved by the FDA, you can choose between saline and silicone implants.
The most common reasons why women choose Breast Augmentation surgery is to enhance the body contour of a woman’s breasts, because of size. Other reasons are to correct uneven breast size or shape, or to add more volume after pregnancy.
After surgery, you will feel tightness and soreness surrounding the breasts. Most plastic surgeons supply you with medications to help ease pain and swelling post surgery. Swelling takes between 3-5 weeks to disappear and some patients may remain swollen longer. It is recommended to wear a surgical bra or loose-fitting sports bra to support your breasts. During your post-op appointments, your plastic surgeon will instruct you how to massage your breasts to help them “bottom-out” which means drop and appear more natural.

Make sure you chose a board certified plastic surgeon. A call to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons or ASPS at 1-888-4-PLASTIC (ie. 1-888-475-2784) can tell you which doctors are legitimate plastic surgeons with outstanding qualifications. You can also visit the ASPS web site at www.plasticsurgery.org. The ASPS is the only one of the 24 boards approved by the American Board of Medical Specialties that certifies physicians in plastic surgery of the face and all areas of the body. When considering a cosmetic surgeon, you should also make sure your surgeon is a member of the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (ASAPS). A call to ASAPS (1-888-272-7711) or visiting the ASAPS website (www.plasticsurgery.org) can help you verify your plastic surgeons membership.
