Your skin and colder weather - prepare for it!
That time of the year is here again and it’s time to bring out our cozy sweaters and start sipping on some hot chocolate! However, the colder weather does come with some major drawbacks in the beauty department. Chilly temperatures and gusts of wind can turn our once moist, glowing skin into an unrecognizable flaky and dull disaster. The problem with the weather being colder is that we are exposed to less humidity. Less humidity can be good news for our hair. However, that is not the case when it comes to our skin complexion.
Wind outdoors and heat indoors combine to draw moisture out of your skin. This can create microscopic openings and cracks in the face and body that leads to itchiness and dryness. You can consider using a humidifier during the colder months of the year to replenish the moisture that is lost due to indoor heating.
Switch to a different face wash! To prevent flakes in the skin, switch to a gentler cleanser. If your skin is more on the dry and sensitive side, use a cream cleanser or cleaning oil. Get rid of the cleansers containing salicylic acid. Try hydrating cleansers that contain Ceramides, an ingredient that moistures and softens your skin.
Invest in a new moisturizer! If you have dry skin, switch to a heavier and more luxurious formula. For acne-prone skin, look for facial creams that contains hyaluronic acid or glycerin. These formulas can help hydrate and plump your skin.
Don’t forget to care for your lips! To get rid of dead skin from your lips, try using a lip scrub. Stay away from waxy lip balms as they can tear the skin off of chapped lips. Stick with a lip ointment and keep it handy at all times.
Last by not least, exfoliate for glowing skin! Dull skin is caused by flakes of dead skin that build up. This effect will not allow the light to reflect off of your skin properly. Exfoliate to release dead skin cells. This will help reveal a hydrated, healthy complexion.

Important reasons to stop drinking soda!
Soda is bad for you. This is a well-documented fact. The taste and flavor of fizzy drinks make you addicted to them. Listed below are reasons why you should stop drinking soda immediately and reach for a water or tea instead!
Drinking soda will make you gain weight. When soda is consumed, you will get extra calories. The excess calories will be stored in the body as fat. As a result, you will gain weight.
Each can of soda contain empty calories and depletes your body of any vital nutrients.
Consuming a sugared drink will rot your teeth. The phosphoric acid it contains can stifle the body’s ability to absorb calcium. Calcium is extremely important for hair nutrition, skin, teeth and strong bones. Drinking excessive amounts of soda can also lead to cavities, erosion of tooth enamel and osteoporosis.
Soda consumption can keep you dehydrated. Because caffeine is a diuretic, it leads to an increase in urine volume. Therefore, when you drink caffeinated sodas to quench your thirst, you will actually become thirstier and more dehydrated.
People who drank more than one soft drink a day were between 25 and 31 percent more likely to develop higher levels of triglycerides and lower levels of “good” cholesterol. Excessive consumption of this sugared drink will also make you more susceptible to high-blood pressure and Type 2 Diabetes.
Consider these important facts about soft drinks. Remember, soda consumption could lead to further health problems and scientists are adding to this list seemingly every day.

Chicago Birthmark or Mole removal
Some of us have learned to love our beauty marks and have even appreciated the fact that these marks make us unique and beautiful. However, beauty marks haven’t always been beautiful, and for most individuals, they may have been considered hideous. Thanks to the innovations we have today, we are able to rid of these unwanted beauty marks quickly.
Moles are irregularities or dark spots found on the skin and come in various shapes and sizes. Moles can appear anywhere on the skin, from the nose and other facial area, as well as chest areas, and arms. They can be present at birth or appear over time as we age. Some moles around our body go unnoticed while some facial “beauty marks” are actually considered attractive. However, for some people, moles are bothersome and can even lead to dangerous health risks.
If you are considering mole removal, you may be glad to discover that there are a number of options available today to help get rid of moles almost anywhere on the body. The different methods will also be based on the size and texture of the mole.
You can usually remove the mole with a non-invasive laser treatment! This treatment will involve exposing the skin to intense targeted light. This will vaporize the targeted outer layer of the skin. This treatment is non-invasive and is a relatively easy and quick procedure. Depending on the size and coloration of the mole, you may need more than one treatment to remove the mole fully. These treatments work best on flat moles.
Your other option would involve surgical removal. This procedure implicates cutting out the mole. The skin is then stitched back together, most often leave a scar that looks better than the mole. This technique is usually used if your doctor or surgeon considers the mole to be cancerous.
These mole removal techniques are all effective and the best option will depend on the type of mole you have and a few other factors. If a mole has changed color or shape, it is best to get it checked by a board certified plastic surgeon.
