There is an exorbitant amount of information out there about longevity and healthy living. Sometimes the information can be conflicting and cause confusion as to whether or not we are doing the right things to lead long and healthy lives. However, great sources to follow for anti-aging recommendations are centenarians, people who have made it to their 100th birthday and up! Centenarians from all over the world seem to offer similar tips on how they reached the century birthday milestone and still lead seemingly healthy and independent lives.
For instance, many centenarians have diets high in fruits, vegetables, healthy fats, and lean meats which are mostly from fish. They also typically avoid red meat and processed foods. Keeping a close social circle of friends and family has also been a common theme for those who make it to their 100th birthday. As for personality traits? Going with the flow, keeping a sense of humor, and a positive outlook on life are all characteristic of many centenarians!
