Skin Care Tip:

Pigmentation changes in your skin!

Whatever your skin color may be, imbalances and trauma to the skin can lead to color changes or hyperpigmentation. Uneven pigmentation can be caused by sun damage, hormonal irregularities, drug reactions or other skin conditions. Good aesthetic professional treatments to correct this include microdermabrasions, glycolic acid peels and non-destructive lasers. For the best results, professional treatments are usually always followed with a solid home skin care program. When selecting products for daily care be sure that they include some of the ingredients below: Azelic Acid – a good anti-oxidant and also suppress melanin, which can produce hyperpigmentation Lumiskin/diacetyl Boldine- keeps the skin color even without irritation Kojic Acid – inhibits pigment, but can cause slight sensitivity Vitamin C - destroys free radicals that cause erratic pigmentation Any protocol for hyperpigmentation must also include a way to protect skin from any more damage with a safe sunblock.

Anti-Aging Tip:

Healthy Posture!

Common knowledge says you should stand up tall. You look healthier, will have less back issues etc. Poor posture definitely sabotages your figure and your health. It can make you look older, unhappy and tired. It is the first step toward dowager’s hump, double chin, pot belly and sway back. And that’s just on the outside! Inside your body, poor posture can exacerbate varicose veins, pinched nerves and heart strain. Put your body back in alignment and things will begin to fall into their place - a flatter stomach, straighter back, buttocks tucked in more and a longer neck. You will feel and look healthier. You will also move more gracefully, just like in Dancing with the Stars!

Plastic Surgery Tip:

Chicago Reduction Mammoplasty Surgery

Some women suffer with exceptionally large breasts that cause medical problems such as back and neck pain, breathing difficulty and indentations in the shoulders due to bra straps digging into the skin. This can cause most women with large breasts to become very self-conscious about their appearance. Breast Reduction surgery, also known as Reduction Mammaplasty, removes fat, breast glandular tissue, and extra skin from the breasts to make them smaller, lighter and firmer. The result is also a more youthful or lifted appearing breast. Some women also suffer from enlarged areolas, which breast reduction surgery can also correct. Breast Reduction surgery is most commonly performed to aid in the relief of stiffness and pain, rather than for cosmetic purposes. Unfortunately, every surgery results in scarring but at least in this case, can usually be hidden by your bathing suit or bra. This surgery is not always recommended for women who plan to become pregnant or nurse, because the ability to breast feed cannot be guaranteed.

Make sure you chose a board certified plastic surgeon. A call to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons or ASPS at 1-888-4-PLASTIC (ie. 1-888-475-2784) can tell you which doctors are legitimate plastic surgeons with outstanding qualifications. You can also visit the ASPS web site at www.plasticsurgery.org The ASPS is the only one of the 24 boards approved by the American Board of Medical Specialties that certifies physicians in plastic surgery of the face and all areas of the body. When considering a cosmetic surgeon, you should also make sure your surgeon is a member of the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (ASAPS). A call to ASAPS (1-888-272-7711) or visiting the ASAPS website (www.plasticsurgery.org) can help you verify your plastic surgeons membership.
